Random Stuff

Ooops, realised I haven't blogged in eons (actually not realised la, I am consciously aware of it, just that laziness set in for way too long...haha). Here are some of the random stuff that I had wanted to blog on but never got down to it. Better kickstart this again before this becomes a white elephant (yes, I know some people have been faithfully coming here to check for updates ....=p)

Salad for dinner

One night I was feeling very fat so I decided to make some salad by throwing in some of the leftover veg, cherry tomatoes and crabstick in my fridge, with a dash of balsamic vinegrette. Looks good hor? But I got hungry after awhile. Hahaha.

My Walnut and Raisin Muffins

I had wanted to make banana muffins initially cos I had a bunch of super ripe bananas lying at home. Unfortunately by the time I reached, I realised the bananas were not super ripe already, they were almost 烂liao. Haha. Bo bian. So I decided to use the same recipe and made walnuts and raisins muffins instead. But I think I was too tired that night, my brains weren't functioning properly, so I sort of messed up the whole recipe. Basically I got all my steps wrong. Wanted to throw the whole mix away but iya since I already did so much, might as well bake them and see how badly they turned out.

Judging from the pics, they don't look that bad right? Hahaha. But I tell you, they were too hard and dry. I proudly named them "my rocks". Nonetheless, I received different feedback. Mark said they were quite hard but quite nice and brought a few to office for breakfast. Shannen, my ardent baking supporter, said she liked it, and that the degree of hardness was ok for her. I even saved 2 of my rocks for the birthday boy (since this year no birthday gift for him hahaha) and he said they were quite hard but got taste la. (-_-")

Will try to improve next time, hopefully can bake more delicious muffins. I'm thinking banana, blueberry, etc....HW don't drool and be patient hor? Haha!

Tall Egg Tarts

Came across an article in Sunday Life recently that introduced this special egg tarts that weren't like the conventional HK egg tarts but were tall and had many different flavours like chocolate, strawberry, blueberry and even chicken and mushroom (??!!). Anyway finally got to taste them and they were as good as they looked, especially the ones with the chocolate chips on top as they had a chocolate layered base that came as a ending surprise.
